I qualified as a Veterinary Surgeon from Bristol Veterinary School in 1995, and joined a mixed practice in Newquay and spent three and a half years there. I did a mixture of small animal and farm work. I was also involved with the animals at nearby Newquay Zoo and dealt with various cases ranging from darting Monkeys to suture their wounds to treating anorexic Pumas.
I joined Woodlands in 1998 as a full time vet but am now carrying out part time work due to taking time out to have my two children.
My particular interests are anaesthesia and small furries, who I feel often get a raw deal especially children’s pets like rabbits, who are often kept in hutches so small they can barely turn around in them.
